press-release-the-star.jpgRAISING funds through fashion seems to be the ‘in’ thing these days and Max It Sdn Bhd maximised this opportunity at a charity bazaar and fashion show at Bangsar Village II in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Raising funds for the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), the event by the lifestyle portal brought together six merchants for a charity sale in which 20% of the proceeds from the sale of each product went to BCWA.

The merchants were Sew & Soul, Tres Chik, Belle Belly, Shoes Shoes Shoes, Pop Up and Musse.

Products on offer ranged from clothes, accessories, shoes and fancy notebooks and bags, while the Marmalade eatery, at which the event took place, chipped in with a similar share of its takings for the day.

The highlight of the event was a fashion show with clothes modelled by local celebrities, including Xandria Ooi, Hannah Low, Nell Ng, Chelsia Ng and Kyra Dani.

Max It director Kyan Yap said the portal aimed to promote independent businesses in the Klang Valley and the event was held to showcase the various women entrepreneurs locally.

“At the same time, we thought that the all-women entrepreneur line-up featuring products relating to women would connect well with the cause of raising funds for the BCWA,” he said, adding that the company was also promoting its privilege card programme.
